Night Hike

PENN WOODS 10/3/10

Weather permitting ‘Wolf’ will meet in the car park of Holy Trinity church, Penn Street for a night hike through the woods. Meet at 6.25pm. Pick up from the car park at 8.00pm prompt.

Cubs will need to be dressed warmly with hat scarf and gloves and have suitable footwear – walking boots or wellingtons.

Cubs will also need to carry a SMALL torch with fresh batteries. Please do not bring anything larger as our route will be marked with glow sticks and powerful torches will not only make them invisible but will destroy the night vision of other members of the group.

Holy Trinity is located on Penn Street, take the Hazlemere road out of Amersham and pass the crematorium. Once past the two turnings for Woodrow take the first left – School Lane, at the end of School Lane turn left once more and the entry to the car park will be on your right, if you reach the Squirrel PH you have gone too far. If you miss School Lane take the next left into Penn Street, then again the church is on your right. Post code HP7 0PX.

Mums, Dads and assorted brothers and sisters, all of whom should have their own torch, are very welcome to join us together with well behaved family pets (with leads if required) but must be supervised by Parents.

The woods are home to a variety of wildlife, Owls, Pheasants, Foxes, Muntjacks, Roe Deer and Badgers. We can’t promise you will spot them but with care, who knows?

If you are going to join us please send me an email just so we know how many to expect.

If the weather is with us it will be a lovely walk.

The Cub Scout Law and Promise

All cubs should learn the Cub Scout Law and Promise before their investiture. The Cub Promise is different to the Beaver Promise they may already know.

The Cub Scout Law

Cub Scouts always do their best,
Think of others before themselves,
And do a good turn every day.

The Cub Scout Promise

I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and to The Queen,
To help other people
And to keep the Scout Law.
